Sunday 28/8 in Lucerne, Benthurst partner Xavier Bekaert gave the very first copy of Iconic to Daniele Gatti, the new chief conductor of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.
This week sees the release of “Iconic – How to Create a Virtuous Circle of Success”. The book was launched in Lucerne, where the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra has given two concerts over the last few days. Jan Raes, managing director of the Orchestra, co-wrote the book with Xavier Bekaert and Gillis Jonk of Benthurst & Co, and with former Bain consultant Phebo Wibbens. The preface was penned by Tom de Swaan, chairman of the Zurich Insurance Group.
The book focuses on fourteen iconic organisations, including the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, which have managed to stay at the top of their game for half a century, a century or longer. The book is the translation of the revised version of Toonaangevend, originally published by Lannoo in 2013.
Iconic is published by LID Publishing (New York and London) and is available from Amazon and other leading online shops. The third edition of the Dutch version Toonaangevend was released this summer. A Japanese translation is also in preparation.
